DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

To Produce “Creators of Innovative Technology”

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year of 2000 and started post graduate course on 2011 with its cohesive team of faculty members, offers a sound program. The curriculum is a blend of the conventional and the radical. It is updated regularly to keep up with the growing demands and the changing trends of the software industry and research laboratories. Core courses include Programming Languages, Computer Architecture, System Software, Networking Technologies and Artificial Intelligence.

State-of-the-Art computing facilities are provided by the Octagon Computer Center - Computer Support Group, our Computer Centre in the newly established Centre. They epitomize the cutting edge technology available in our college. The servers which support the LAN also provide a Linux/Unix environment, include SUN SPARC and Silicon Graphics workstations.

GUEST LECTURER ON LATEST TOPICS AND UPCOMING FIELDS:

  •   Android applications
  •   Robotics.

EVENTS&OBJECTIVE

EVENTS

Event Name: : Big Data Analytics with Hadoop.

Conducted on: 8th April 2015.

OBJECTIVE

Applying basic analytics is restricted to human scale activities and direction. Unfortunately traditional analytics tools are not well suited to capture the valuable information hidden in Big Data. The volume of data is too large for comprehensive analysis. The range of potential correlations and relationships between disparate data sources, from back end customer databases to live web based click streams, are too great for any analyst to test all hypotheses and derive all the value buried in the data. The objective of this workshop is to provide a practical exposure to the participants about Hadoop Frame work and insight into the Big Data and its tools.

CONFERENCE&TRAINING

CONFERENCE

First national conference on “Recent trends in Computing and Informatics” conducted on JAN’15.

TRAINING

VALUE ADDED PROGRAMMES

The college believes that the students should have an all round personality. To facilitate this, the college conducts various programmes in addition to the teaching learning process, such as, Personality Development Programme, Entrepreneur Development programme, Business Communication, Faculty Development Programmes, Career Oriented Programmes (Robotics, Embedded Systems) etc. Further, the college conducts a series of guest Lectures by experts drawn from the industry and academic circles on related topics to augment the class room lectures. The students take active part in seminars, projects, in - plant training and specialized computer software / hardware courses.

PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL AND QUALITY CONTROL

The college has excellent performance appraisal system. The students are systematically monitored and taken care of by means of a two-tier counseling system, through which the students are advised and parents are informed of the progress of the students. The college strongly believes in Quality Assurance and plans to embark on ISO-9000 Certification as well.

SPORTS AND GAMES
