ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

      The department has audio/video systems to familiarize the students with Spoken English. It is proposed to setup a full-fledged computer-aided language laboratory with hi-class software to facilitate the students to prepare for TOFEL/ IELTS as well as learning the language structures, two varieties of English sound system, pronunciation etc at their own pace. The department aims at building self-confidence in the students and improving their communication skills.

MATHEMATICS

The Department of Mathematics has highly qualified faculty members who are engaged in teaching and research. The Department conducts interdepartmental activities like Math’s Quiz and Numerical ability to develop the mathematical skills of the students.

PHYSICS

To elicit the student’s hidden activities in scientific invention, and we also conduct a Scientific Forum which helps the students in motivating their aptitude in physical science. Our department also guides a group of Civil Engineering students in their project work. we helps the students of various engineering departments in determining the density of oils and viscosity of liquids that are used in their project work.

The objective of our Department is to provide every student an opportunity to become proficient in 4 basic skills of English Language Acquisition – Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing by way of effective coaching and training so as to face real life situations with ease and confidence.

DEPT OF PHYSICS

Being the backbone of engineering field, there are many reasons to acquire knowledge of basic physics, no matter what field of specialization one may in. The subject of Physics is to impart fundamental knowledge in various Engineering subjects and applications and to make every student realize the significance of Physics.

DEPT OF CHEMISTRY

The department of chemistry has started functioning from the inception of this college and offers core courses in chemistry for undergraduate B.E./B.Tech. Students of Engineering in the college. The department has faculty members with specialization like Organic Chemistry, Environmental Science, Material Science, Electrochemistry and others. The faculty members have been active in organizing scientific meetings from time to time and they are being invited to deliver seminars/lectures at various national conferences and symposia. The Department has a well-established laboratory to fulfill the need of under graduate curriculum as well as research works.

DEPT OF MATHS

Motivating the students to acquire problem solving, logical reasoning, analytical and communicative skills. PHYSICS CHEMISTRY LABORATORY

We have various experiments in the field of engineering physics and chemistry. By this experiment the students learns basics knowledge of scientific research and programming activities in various fields of engineering, which is used in construction field, machinery field, electrical field, communication system and also in the some other developing activities.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS LAB

English department conducts the communication skills lab which gives the over all developing knowledge of online examination. It gives the training to improve the skills in group discussion and personality development which gives the confident to the students to attend the interviews and also improve their communications skills.

GUEST LECTURER

Mr.Prabhakaran from IMA given the speech in the topic of “Engineers in the World”. He discussed about the engineers in the various field overall the world wide activities. The speech was very useful to the students.

Our department also conducted the “Communication Skills Training Program” on the basis of future vision of campus interview to develop the students communication knowledge.

We conducted “Placement Oriented Programs” from various international companies which gives an knowledge about the placement and working environment in company for the beginners.

We are given special attention to the Anna university examination point of view “How to Attend the Examination”. We are given guest lecturers on all the first year subjects by well experiences persons from other colleges and universities

EVENTS

Our department science and humanities conducted VOSH-2015 (Vision Of Science and Humanities) on 17-03-15. In the program, we conducted over all 16 events which are very useful to the students on the basis of both knowledge and health. It will help the students to form a good leadership and friendship among them. It also help them to grow up in their education and careers.

The events like “Paper Presentation, Post Presentation and Quiz” will improve their knowledge towards the education. The events like “100 mts, Cricket, Throw Ball” are conducted on the basis of Health. The events like “Dance, Drawing,

Mehandi” on the basis of individual talent. Over all this events VOSH-2015 make the students fresh and free healthy minded persons.

GENERAL FACILITIES

Spread across 60 acres of lush green environment, the college has excellent infrastructure facilities including adequate class rooms and seminar halls for respective departments.

The College has been awarded the ‘Clean and Green Campus’ by the Lions Club of Sriperumbudur for the very clean, green and beautiful campus providing an excellent ambience for learning.

There is a full-fledged Building construction and maintenance wing headed by 3 site engineers, with 10 numbers of Assistant Engineers, Supervisors and workmen, in all, numbering 13. Their responsibilities include periodical maintenance of the buildings, apart from planning and construction of new buildings or extensions.
